Sermon outline: LUKE 6:12 - 18

JESUS’ PRAYER LIFE

 1. Jesus chose His first Ministers after MUCH Prayer

Vs 12 “He went into the mountain to pray, and continued ALL night in Prayer.

 Deep significance. It was intended to be a perpetual lesson to the church of Christ

Meant to show the great importance of Prayer and intercession on behalf of the Ministers/Pastors

2. There are several references in the Gospels to Jesus and His prayer Life:

Mark1:35, Prayed long before dawn

Luke 6:12, late at night

Luke 5:16, for long periods

Luke 23: 34, Jesus prayed on the cross.

 3. Communicating with the Father was important to Jesus

     How much more should it be for Christians?

 
4. Jesus interceding for us now, at the throne of God, for all to come to the saving knowledge of Christ.

The invitation is always there for us to accept, will you and I come today!

Dear GOD,

I know that I am not worthy to be accepted by you.

I don’t deserve your gift of eternal life.

I am guilty of rebelling against you and ignoring you.

                       I need forgiveness!

Thank you for sending your son to die for me, that I may be forgiven.

Thank you, that he rose from the dead to give me new life.

Please forgive me and change me,

Fill me with your Holy Spirit that I may live with Jesus as my ruler.

 Amen
